Projects

A defined piece of work with a defined outcome

Some work doesn’t need a Diagnostic, a retainer, or an ongoing relationship. You know what you need. You have a scope, a deadline, and a budget. You want it scoped, priced, and delivered.

That’s what a Project is. A single piece of admissions work commissioned against a clear brief, delivered to an agreed timeline, priced from the start.

Projects fall into four broad categories. Most commissions sit cleanly inside one. Where they don’t, scope is agreed against the requirement.

Who it’s for

Providers who:

  • Have a specific deliverable in mind and want it done well
  • Have inherited a function with documented gaps to close
  • Are responding to a regulatory change, deadline, or external review
  • Need specialist input for a defined moment in their cycle

Policy and governance

Committee-ready admissions policy and governance work, delivered to a fixed scope and a fixed price.

Single policy or procedure. From £2,000. One admissions policy or procedure, fully drafted or substantially revised. Includes equality impact assessment, governance coversheet, and a briefing for the senior owner. Suitable for admissions policy, appeals procedure, complaints procedure, contextual admissions policy, fee assessment policy, right to study policy, and similar.

Linked policy set. From £5,000. Two or three related policies delivered as a set, with consistent framing, terminology, and cross-references.

Governance framework. From £8,000. A full admissions governance framework for a specific structure such as subcontractual delivery, franchise partnerships, in-year admissions, or transfer admissions. Includes policies, procedures, decision authorities, and oversight documentation.

Training, briefings, and away days

Capability building for admissions and adjacent functions, designed for the team you have and the work they actually do. Delivered remote or on-site.

Practitioner day. From £3,500. A bespoke session covering the topics your function needs in the room together. Examples include fair admissions, fee status, right to study, fraud identification, consumer protection, and emerging regulatory pressures.

Compliance and data protection training. From £2,000. Half-day to full-day sessions on regulatory compliance for admissions staff, including UKVI, OfS conditions, CMA, and UK GDPR as they apply to the function, in practical terms.

Committee or leadership briefing. From £2,000. A targeted session for committee members, senior leaders, or governors on a specific admissions topic where they need shared understanding before a decision.

Deadline and inspection response

Time-bound work driven by a regulator, governance cycle, or external review.

Regulatory deadline response. From £3,500. Focused support to meet a specific regulatory deadline, OfS inquiry, or institutional review. Scope agreed against the deadline and the gap.

Inspection or audit preparation. From £4,500. Admissions-specific preparation for Ofsted, OfS, or other external scrutiny, including evidence gathering, self-assessment review, and process documentation.

Bespoke

Where the work doesn’t fit a standard project, scope and price are agreed against the requirement. Most bespoke projects sit between £4,000 and £15,000.

What’s included in every project

  • Scoping conversation to confirm the brief, the outcome, and the timeline
  • Clear deliverables and milestones
  • Documented work delivered to a professional standard
  • One round of revisions where appropriate
  • A handover briefing for the senior owner
  • All materials produced as part of the project

How it works

Most projects run between four and twelve weeks. Scope and timeline are agreed at the scoping call and confirmed in a statement of work. Payment is staged where the project runs longer than six weeks.
